{"id":96,"date":"2006-02-14T13:26:15","date_gmt":"2006-02-14T13:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.plutino.net\/journals\/ethan\/?p=96"},"modified":"2006-02-14T13:28:09","modified_gmt":"2006-02-14T13:28:09","slug":"uhwhat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.plutino.net\/journals\/ethan\/?p=96","title":{"rendered":"Uh&#8230;What?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was a lot <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/middle_east\/4710938.stm\">going down here in Beirut this morning<\/a> that maybe I&#8217;ll write something about later, but I really want to say a few words about the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/americas\/4711372.stm\">&#8220;uproar&#8221; surrounding the Cheney hunting accident<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>What is the matter with people?  Seriously.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know about you, but so far as issues the White House is trying to keep hush-hush on, I&#8217;m a little more concerned about absence of WMDs or links between Saddam and Al Qaeda or whether or not leaks of State Defense secrets were authorized during a grudge match than I am about a hunting accident.  I&#8217;m more interested in the administration proving that they&#8217;re justified in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chron.com\/disp\/story.mpl\/nation\/3651464.html\">selling off national parks land to pay for cuts they made from rural school and road budgets<\/a> than proving whether or not Cheney had the proper licenses to be hunting quail.<\/p>\n<p>If I had the influence, I&#8217;d cut a deal with the administration&#8230;come up with a viable exit strategy for Iraq and roll back your tax-cuts for the wealthy and I&#8217;ll agree to let Cheney shoot one hunter every week.
